I got mixed feelings about the 320B L. It's solid, don't get me wrong, but I had a couple issues with the undercarriage, mostly with tracks wearing out faster than I wanted. Might just be the rough terrain I work in, but replacing tracks isn't cheap. That said, engine rarely lets me down, starts up in the cold, pulls decent power, and burns less fuel than some other machines we got. Parts are easy to get, my local dealer always sorts me out quick, so at least downtime isn't too much of a headache. Bit noisy in the cab at times, but I've heard worse.

We had a 320B LN on a site where it did a bit of everything, trench, lifting pipe, grading around forms. That versatility is real, you don’t feel like you need a different machine for every little task.

Service access is one of the better parts. Daily stuff is easy to get to, and when something does need parts, you can usually get them without waiting forever. That keeps downtime low, which is the whole point.

Comfort is fine, not luxury. Controls are user friendly and it’s not a weird machine to hop into if you’ve run other Cats. I will say keep an eye on undercarriage wear if you’re living in rough ground… tracks/rollers/idlers can get sloppy if you let it go.

Honestly, I've put in a lot of hours with the 320B L and mostly it's just reliable, does what it needs to. Controls are real straightforward, don't need to mess around with things and cab space is decent. I deal with a lot of different jobs, switching between digging and loading and it's got enough versatility for what I need. Haven't run into much with the electrics, but I keep up on maintenance. Only annoying thing for me is the dust that builds up around the track area but that's kind of standard. Wouldn't say it's fancy, but it's a workhorse for sure.
